RENTON, WASH. – Seattle Sounders FC announced its 2014 preseason schedule, which will include training camps in Arizona and South Carolina from late January to early March.
Sounders FC will begin preseason training on Saturday, January 25 at Starfire Sports in Tukwila, Wash. Four days later, the team will travel to Tucson, Ariz., on January 29, to begin a 10-day training camp at Kino Sports Complex. Sounders FC will participate in two preseason friendlies in Tucson, playing the San Jose Earthquakes on February 5 and the Portland Timbers on February 8.
Sounders FC will return to Seattle on February 9 and will train at Starfire Sports for 10 days. The team will then travel to Charleston, SC, on February 19 to participate in the Carolina Challenge Cup. It will be Seattle’s first-ever appearance in the preseason tournament and the team will face the Houston Dynamo, DC United and the Charleston Battery of the USL Pro.
Sounders FC will return to Seattle on March 2 to complete final preparations for the 2014 season. March to Soccer Opening Match will be played in Seattle on March 8 as Sounders FC hosts the 2013 MLS Cup champions Sporting Kansas City on NBC Sports Network, kicking off the league's 19th season.
