Sounders FC sets new MLS attendance record

SEATTLE, WASH. - With an attendance of 55,435 at today's regular season finale against Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders FC has set a new MLS attendance record with a 2015 average of 44,245. The mark breaks the club's previous league record of 44,038 set in 2013. The club's current MLS sellout streak stands at 124 consecutive matches, also an MLS record.

Sounders FC now has the seven-highest single-season attendance totals in league history, leading the league each season since entering MLS in 2009. Sounders FC is currently second in average attendance in the Western Hemisphere, and the club just surpassed Barclays Premier League side Liverpool in the current global attendance rankings. 


Following tonight's 3-1 win over RSL, Sounders FC qualified for Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs and will face the LA Galaxy in the Knockout Round this Wednesday, October 28 at CenturyLink Field (7:00 p.m. PT / UniMas, JOEtv, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, El Rey 1360 AM).
