SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC and Xbox today unveiled brand new Gears of War 4-themed jerseys that the club is wearing for this Sunday’s road match at the LA Galaxy (1:00 p.m. PT / ESPN, 107.7 The End, El Rey 1360 AM), as well as the 2016 MLS regular-season finale on Sunday, October 23 against Real Salt Lake. Available for purchase on October 11 exclusively on Xbox One and Windows 10, Gears of War 4 is the beginning of an epic new saga for one of the most celebrated video game franchises that helped redefine console shooters.

Xbox and Gears of War 4 are helping Sounders FC to #NeverFightAlone as the club makes a late-season push for a spot in the 2016 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, beginning this Sunday with a road matchup against the second-place LA Galaxy, as well as the regular-season finale on Sunday, October 23 against current-fourth-place side Real Salt Lake. The initiative marks the second-consecutive season that Sounders FC has altered its jersey mid-season after it became the first club in league history to do so last year with its Halo 5: Guardians-themed jerseys. The new Gears of War 4 jerseys utilize Sounders FC’s Pacific Blue third kits that were unveiled at the beginning of the 2016 season.

Horde 3.0 marks the return of the popular multiplayer survival mode that pits up to five players against waves of enemies, and returns to the mode’s trademark co-op multiplayer intensity, with the addition of modern touches such as classes, abilities and fortifications.
In addition to ferocious new classes of enemies like the Swarm and the DeeBees, Horde 3.0 also introduces new innovations like a class-based system that lets players choose from five variations in roles to play to their strengths and encourage teamwork. In addition, the new “Fabricator” is a deployable base of operations that allows players to build their defenses anywhere on the map and execute their defensive strategy with precision.
Those that attend Seattle’s regular-season finale on October 23 also have the chance to partake in some on-site gaming, with fans able to play Gears of War 4 at CenturyLink Field in addition to other matchday activations surrounding Fan Appreciation Match. Fans can also bring in their Pacific Blue jerseys to The Pro Shop at CenturyLink Field on October 23 to have their jersey embellished with the Gears 4 mark (Only available October 23 at The Pro Shop at CenturyLink Field; limited availability; as supplies last). Following a 1-0 home win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC, Sounders FC (10-13-5, 35 points) travels to Southern California to take on second-place LA Galaxy (11-4-15, 48 points) on Sunday at the StubHub Center (1:00 p.m. PT / ESPN, 107.7 The End, El Rey 1360 AM). The Rave Green currently sit in seventh place in the Western Conference, just five points behind Sporting Kansas City for the sixth and final spot in the 2016 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, with six games remaining in the 2016 regular season.
