Everything you need to know when the Seattle Sounders take on FC Dallas

The Seattle Sounders travel to Frisco, Texas, for a Sunday fixture against FC Dallas (2 p.m. PT; JOEtv, Univision-Seattle; SoundersFC.com, El Rey 1360am). Here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know about the game.

WHEN AND WHERE: Kickoff is at 2 p.m. PT at Toyota Stadium.

WHERE TO WATCH: The game will be telecast on JOEtv and Univision-Seattle. You can find a full list of Sounders FC Pub Partners here.

WHERE TO LISTEN: The game will air on SoundersFC.com and in Spanish on El Rey 1360AM.

RECORDS AND STANDINGS: Sounders (13-13-6, 45 points, fourth in the Western Conference), FC Dallas (16-8-8, 56 points, second in the West).

ALL-TIME HISTORY: The Sounders are 10-4-5 all time against FC Dallas and 1-1-0 this season.

LAST MEETING: The Sounders won 5-0 at home on July 13 behind goals from Clint Dempsey, Andreas Ivanschitz, Jordan Morris, Joevin Jones and Cristian Roldan.

WIN AND IN: The Sounders failed to clinch a postseason spot in Wednesday’s home draw against the Houston Dynamo, but can do so on Sunday in Frisco. A win would secure a berth, but if the Portland Timbers draw or lose, Seattle would also clinch irrespective of its result.

SEEING RED: Seattle Sounders defensive midfielder Osvaldo Alonso is suspended for the match after being issued a red card on Wednesday against Houston. Captain Brad Evans does return, though, after serving his one-game ban on Wednesday for his own red card on Oct. 2 in Vancouver.

IVANSCHITZ OUT: Ivanschitz exited the match in the 16th minute on Wednesday and was diagnosed with a right knee sprain. Interim head coach Brian Schmetzer ruled Ivanschitz out for this Sunday and labeled him doubtful for the team’s regular-season finale against Real Salt Lake on Oct. 23.

CHASE FOR THE SHIELD: After being in firm control of the Supporters’ Shield race for much of the season, FC Dallas dropped to second place on Thursday after the Colorado Rapids defeated the San Jose Earthquakes. The Rapids now sit at 57 points, just one ahead of FC Dallas, with two matches remaining in the regular season.

YOUNG TALENT: The Seattle Sounders and FC Dallas combined for six players on MLS’ annual “24 Under 24” list, which ranks the best MLS players under 24. The Sounders feature Roldan (No. 24) and Morris (No. 3), while FCD boasts Walker Zimmerman (No. 11), Jesse Gonzalez (No. 9), Carlos Gruezo (No. 8) and Kellyn Acosta (No. 4).
