MEDIA NOTE: Media interested in covering the match should apply for credentials at SoundersFC.com/Credentials by checking the single-match option and selecting “Zach Scott Testimonial Match” in the drop-down menu. Standard Sounders FC media credentials are not being accepted.

Testimonials are a long-standing tradition in soccer culture, particularly in the United Kingdom and South America. These special matches are held to honor a particular player for his or her service to the club.

The Zach Scott Testimonial Match is taking place at Memorial Stadium (401 5th Avenue N., Seattle, WA 98109), the home of the Seattle Sounders in 1974-1975 and 1997-2002. With teams coached by fellow Sounders FC originals Osvaldo Alonso and Brad Evans, the match is set to feature teammates and friends across all 15 years of Scott’s career in Seattle, including Kasey Keller, Roger Levesque and Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, among others. The final player list and team rosters are being announced at a later date.

100 percent of proceeds raised from ticket sales, donations and auction items are being split amongst three charitable causes: The Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund (Scott’s chosen charity), RAVE Foundation (the charitable arm of Sounders FC) and a college fund for Scott’s three children. Ticket prices are set as a minimum, providing the option to donate more to the overall fund. Those who are unable to attend but are interested in donating can do so via the following link: http://sndrs.com/uvrf.

Scott retired from professional soccer at the conclusion of Sounders FC’s 2016 MLS Cup-winning campaign. Closing the book on a distinguished 15-year career in Seattle at the USL and MLS levels, Scott made 352 total appearances in a Sounders uniform, including the last eight seasons in MLS, where he ranks fifth in Sounders FC club history with 116 career regular-season appearances. The Haiku, Hawaii native won 12 trophies throughout his time in Seattle, including two USL league titles, four Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups, the 2014 Supporters' Shield and 2016 MLS Cup, as well as four Cascadia Cup titles.
