For Sounders fans, now is the time to take this rivalry to the next level and show who’s better on the sticks.
Seattle and Portland finally have the chance to duke it out on the pitch – in FIFA 20. From 6-8pm PT on Thursday, fans can register for free to take part in The SEA vs. PDX FIFA Showdown hosted by Matcherino, pitting the Rave Green against the Green & Gold.

Points from the results of each individual match – three for a win, one for a draw and zero for a loss – will be combined to determine an overall winner between the Sounders and Timbers, earning fans bragging rights. Three lucky participants from each team will also be randomly selected to receive a signed item from their team.
Additionally, the Showdown’s marquee matchup will take place at 7pm PT, with Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei facing off against Portland defender Bill Tuiloma. for club and FIFA glory. At 7:30pm PT, the two clubs’ eMLS representatives – Seattle’s TheMarsBars11 and Portland’s RCTID Thiago – will also compete for their shields. Fans can tune into the Twitch channel for their respective teams to check out the action and cheer their side on to victory. Throughout the stream, and during the week, fans will also be encouraged to donate to their club’s selected community COVID-19 relief charity – the Sounders FC Relief Fund for Sounders FC and the United Way of the Columbia-Willamette for the Timbers – with the ability to donate directly online.
The Seattle Sounders FC Relief Fund was established by RAVE Foundation to support individuals, small businesses and nonprofits located in CenturyLink Field and in the neighborhoods surrounding CenturyLink Field that have been adversely impacted by the postponement of the 2020 MLS season due to COVID-19. These neighborhoods include SODO, Pioneer Square and Chinatown-International District.
