The Seattle Sounders are visiting Minnesota United on Saturday in their first meeting of the 2022 MLS regular season. Here is everything you need to know:
WHEN AND WHERE: Kickoff is at 5 p.m. PT at Allianz Field in Saint Paul, Minn.

2022 RECORDS AND STANDINGS: Sounders: 1-2-1 (4 points, 11th West), Minnesota: 2-0-2 (8 points, 3rd West)
PREVIOUS MEETING: The Sounders defeated the Loons 1-0 at Lumen Field in Seattle on Sept. 11 last year behind a first-half goal from João Paulo.
RETURN FROM INTERNATIONAL DUTY: The Sounders will see four players come back from representing their countries: Jordan Morris (United States), Cristian Roldan (United States), Xavier Arreaga (Ecuador) and Nouhou (Cameroon). All four players helped their respective countries qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

GETTING HEALTHY: The 13-day international break came at a good time for the Sounders, who were already dealing with several injuries while managing both Concacaf Champions League and MLS play. Raúl Ruidíaz, Nicolás Lodeiro, Yeimar, Stefan Frei and Jimmy Medranda will all be that much closer to returning to the lineup.
QUICK TURNAROUND: Speaking of Champions League, the Sounders have four days between their match in Minnesota on Saturday and their first CCL semifinal leg at home in Seattle against New York City FC. The Sounders will then visit NYCFC on April 13 in the second leg with the opportunity to advance to their first CCL final on the line.
SOUNDERS DOMINANCE: Seattle has owned the series between the two clubs since Minnesota joined MLS in 2017. The Sounders are 8-1-1 in 10 all-time meetings, including a wild 3-2, come-from-behind win in the 2020 Western Conference Championship. The Loons took three points off the Sounders for the first time last year at Allianz Field, snapping the Sounders’ league-record 13-match unbeaten streak to start a season.
LATE DRAMA: Of the Sounders’ 21 goals scored against Minnesota, seven have come in the 76th minute or later.
UNBLEMISHED: The Loons are one of only five teams in MLS to have yet to lose so far this season. They’re joined by the Philadelphia Union, Columbus Crew SC, Chicago Fire FC and LAFC as teams without a loss.
FORMER SOUNDERS: Minnesota features a pair of 2016 MLS Cup winners with the Sounders in goalkeeper Tyler Miller and defender Oniel Fisher. Miller is in his third season in Minnesota, while Fisher joined this past offseason from the LA Galaxy.
MIDFIELD MAGIC: The Loons boast one of the best pure playmakers in MLS in Emanuel Reynoso. The 26-year-old Argentine joined Minnesota from South American giants Boca Juniors in 2020 and has six goals and 17 assists in 46 matches.
