2019 RECORDS AND STANDINGS: Sounders: 11-7-5 (38 points, 4th West), Revolution: 9-9-6 (33 points, 7th East)

FORM GUIDE (most recent first): Seattle: LWLWW, New England: LWWWD

ALL-TIME HISTORY: The Sounders are 4-5-4 all-time against the Revolution, including a 3-1-2 mark at home.

PREVIOUS MEETING: The Rave Green battled the Revolution to a scoreless draw at Gilette Stadium back on July 7, 2018. A heavily rotated Sounders side maintained a clean sheet while generating a couple of chances in transition and from set pieces. The match was followed by a draw in Atlanta and then nine consecutive wins as Seattle catapulted up the Western Conference standings.

NEW COACH, WHO DIS?: The Revs parted ways with former U.S. Men’s National Team goalkeeper Brad Friedel, who had led the team for just 46 matches, back on May 9. He was replaced by former LA Galaxy and two-time USMNT head coach Bruce Arena.

NEW NEW ENGLAND: Since Arena’s appointment as the head coach, the Revs have lost just twice in 13 games across all competitions.

LET THE MEMORY LIVE AGAIN: Back on April 29, 2017, Seattle found itself 3-0 down to the Revolution in the 74th minute. The Rave Green managed to score three times in the final 15 minutes to claw back a point at home.

REVAMPED REVS: Beyond the head coach, the Revs have undergone a raft of changes to the starting XI. Midfield stalwart Kelyn Rowe was shipped off to Sporting Kansas City in the offseason, while Designated Players Gustavo Bou and Carles Gil have bolstered the roster.

SUCCESSFUL EXPERIMENT: One of Arena’s key changes since taking the helm has been remolding Juan Agudelo from a goal-scoring winger into a box-to-box central midfielder.

MAGIC MORRIS: Seattle Sounders attacker Jordan Morris has scored three goals in his last two starts for the Rave Green, bringing his offensive contributions to seven goals and two assists from 16 starts this season.

I BWANA SEE MORE HANDWALLA: Sounders Homegrown Handwalla Bwana provided an instant spark off the bench in the 3-2 loss to SKC in Week 22, providing an assist on Morris’ second goal and nearly grabbing the equalizer in second-half stoppage time.
