SOUNDERS CONTINUE CLIMB: Seattle has 13 points in its last six MLS matches (4-1-1), tied for the most in the league in that span. The Sounders also enter the weekend above the MLS playoff line with matches in hand.

MORRIS DISHING: Sounders winger Jordan Morris created five chances, a career high, in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with LAFC. Although none ended up in the back of the net, he’ll look to add to his two MLS assists this season and play provider yet again against SKC on Saturday.

RAGEN RISING: In the absence of Yeimar, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, Sounders rookie center back Jackson Ragen has stepped up admirably. He is in the 90th percentile among MLS center backs for clearances, 85th for aerials won and 81st for blocks. He put an exclamation on his strong first season last week, turning in MLS Team of the Week performances against the Vancouver Whitecaps and LAFC.

RUIDÍAZ STILL LIKELY OUT: The Sounders will likely be without star forward Raúl Ruidíaz this weekend, as the Peruvian continues to recover from a hamstring pull. He leads the club with five league goals so far this year.

SLOW STARTS: SKC is the only team in MLS this season without a goal in the opening 20 minutes of a match.

DEFENSIVE STRUGGLES: Sporting enters this weekend tied for the second-most goals allowed in MLS this season with 29 from 17 matches. Only the San Jose Earthquakes (34) have allowed more.

MIDWEEK ROUT: Sporting ran riot against USL League One side Union Omaha on Wednesday in a 6-0 win to advance to the U.S. Open Cup semifinals. They are joined by the New York Red Bulls, USL Championship club Sacramento Republic and the winner of Orlando City vs. Nashville SC.
