Neagle earns spot on fourth Team of the Week

Seattle forward joins Djimi Traore for the team lead with four selections to the Team of the Week.

With Clint Dempsey and Eddie Johnson out of the Sounders FC lineup on international duty, a lot was asked of Lamar Neagle last week. He responded with two goals in two matches against Chivas USA and the Chicago Fire, giving Seattle two victories and six points. It also put Neagle in the Team of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Neagle now shares the team scoring lead with Johnson and Obafemi Martins, all with seven goals to pace Sounders FC.

The Federal Way native was joined on Team of the Week by goalkeeper Clint Irwin (Colorado Rapids); defenders Chris Klute (Colorado Rapids), Jamison Olave (New York Red Bulls) and Carlos Bocanegra (Chivas USA); midfielders Jonny Steele (New York Red Bulls), Will Johnson (Portland Timbers), Oriol Rosell (Sporting Kansas City) and Je-Vaughn Watson (FC Dallas); and forwards Marco Di Vaio (Montreal Impact) and Claudio Bieler (Sporting Kansas City).

Seattle defender Djimi Traore has also been named to Team of the Week four times, but no other player has earned the recognition more than twice.
