New York’s Record: The Red Bulls are fourth in the Eastern Conference at 9-8-11.  That includes a 7-2-4 record at home, where they are unbeaten in their last seven matches (5-0-2).


Head-To-Head: This is the only match of the season between the two clubs.  They played to a 1-1 draw last season in Seattle.


All-Time Series: Seattle leads the all-time series at 3-2-3.  Sounders FC’s inaugural match came against the Red Bulls, a 3-0 victory at CenturyLink Field in 2009.


Injury Report: Sounders FC – OUT: F Kevin Parsemain (ACL Tear). QUESTIONABLE: D Damion Lowe (Hip Surgery); GK Marcus Hahnemann (L Hamstring Strain).  Red Bulls – OUT: M Bobby Convey (Deviated Septum Surgery); M Michael Bustamante (R Knee Surgery). QUESTIONABLE: F Bradley Wright-Phillips (Hamstring Injury).


Key Player: Thierry Henry continues to be among the best in MLS.  The former Arsenal and FC Barcelona legend has nine goals and 12 assists this season to give him 50 goals and 40 assists in 117 career MLS matches.  In his last five matches, he has four goals and two assists.


Notes: Sounders FC is the only MLS club that has clinched a playoff spot and is one win away from matching the club record with 18 victories, set in 2011. … Sounders FC is on a four-game winning streak, one short of matching the longest streak of the season. … Seattle announced on Friday that defender Damion Lowe and forward Kevin Parsemain were both removed from the disabled list earlier in the week ahead of the roster freeze deadline.  Neither has played a match this season.  Sounders FC also added Nigerian defender Onyekachi Apam, though he has not yet joined the team. … With 13 goals and nine assists, Obafemi Martins has surpassed Fredy Montero’s all-time club record with 35 points in one season.  He is one goal shy of Eddie Johnson’s club record for goals in a season. … This is the second match in a three-game road swing for Seattle.  The first came in a 3-1 overtime win in the U.S. Open Cup final on Tuesday and it concludes on Wednesday against FC Dallas. … This will be Seattle’s final regular season match against an Eastern Conference opponent.  The Sounders have gone 6-3-0 against the East this season.
