SEATTLE, WASH. – Sounders FC earned a 1-0 win over San Diego Loyal SC on Saturday evening in the club’s final preseason match of 2021, with Will Bruin scoring the lone goal. The two sides played an earlier scrimmage, with Seattle also earning a 1-0 win over the USL side thanks to a goal by Academy player Juan Alvarez. Sounders FC begins the 2021 MLS regular season next Friday, April 16 vs. Minnesota United FC at Lumen Field (6:30 p.m. PT / FS1).
In an exclusive opportunity for what was otherwise a closed-door match, the club provided Virginia Mason Franciscan Health with over 200 tickets to be distributed to employees and their families, inviting them to enjoy the game in appreciation of the extraordinary work that they have done, and continue to do, in the face of the COVID-19 public health crisis.
