PREVIOUS MEETING: The Sounders defeated St. Louis CITY 2-0 at CITYPARK on Decision Day last year behind a goal from Albert Rusnák and an own goal by Tim Parker.

HOME STRETCH: Seattle will play its seventh of eight matches in 25 days on Saturday, nearly capping a dizzying amount of fixtures in the month of May. The Sounders are 3-1-2 in the six matches so far in all competitions.

DE LA VEGA IMPACT: Sounders new Young Designated Player Pedro de la Vega made his first appearance in over two months last weekend after missing time with a hamstring injury. The Argentine attacker was lively in his 20 minutes of action off the bench against the Vancouver Whitecaps, hitting the woodwork twice and providing a spark in the final third.

EARLY DOMINANCE: Seattle swept St. Louis in their two meetings last season. The Sounders won both matches by a combined score of 5-0.

CITYPARK SUCCESS: Since the start of their inaugural season last year, St. Louis has lost at home just five times in MLS regular season play in 24 matches (14-5-5), with Seattle one of St. Louis’ five defeats.

SWISS CONNECTION: Saturday’s match will feature a pair of veteran Swiss goalkeepers going head-to-head. St. Louis CITY ‘keeper Roman Bürki is a former Swiss international and the reigning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, while the Sounders’ Stefan Frei, who grew up in Switzerland and now has United States citizenship, led MLS in clean sheets last season.
