João Paulo vs Ashley Westwood
After coming off his one-game suspension, João Paulo put on a defensive masterclass in the center of the pitch in the Sounders’ last match against the Timbers. By shutting down players early, the Brazilian midfielder was able to prevent multiple attacking build-up opportunities for the Timbers. He will likely face up against Charlotte midfielder Ashley Westwood, who spent most of his career playing in the English Premier League with teams Aston Villa (2012-2017) and Burnley (2017-2023).
